Consider Your CO2 Production and EEXI Score During Initial Design – Before the Ship Has Sailed:
Important business decisions – both technical and financial – are made during the initial stages of a vessel’s design or retrofit. This is the most effective time to successfully determine hull form and propulsion system characteristics, especially given the recent EEXI regulation requirements. This presentation will discuss the use of a popular commercial software tool – HydroComp NavCad – for duty-profile simulation of a design or retrofit modifications, including calculation of the EEXI Score. Specific features of NavCad will be highlighted with a ROPAX case study that looks at ship resistance, propeller performance, dual-fuel engine operation, as well as prediction of fuel consumption and CO2 production for a voyage profile.
