 Rev: April 08, 2009
SwiftCraft is a powerful new designer's tool for speed and power prediction of propeller-driven monohull vessels under 75 m (250 ft). SwiftCraft had been developed specifically for designers and builders of motor yachts, patrol craft, small ships, supply vessels, ferries and other transit craft.

Built upon 25 years of technical development by the experts at HydroComp, SwiftCraft employs the most advanced parametric prediction capabilities to be found. Complementing the strength of its calculations is its easy-to-use interface. Modeled on web navigation, it is ideal for new users where a rapid learning curve is important and the time needed to complete a project must be minimized.

 Planned for 2009

  • New report viewer [currently available] - A new integrated report viewer provides enhanced reporting options, including direct to PDF. (Legacy HTML reports will still be supported.)
  • Effect of shaft angle [currently available] - High shaft angle can greatly affect a propeller's thrust and torque. Avoid unexpected overload and peak cavitation surprises with a new "inclined flow" algorithm.
  • Propeller CAD shape [currently available] - Easily generate a suitable propeller CAD shape for your 3D design. One click will export a representative propeller CAD shape in IGES format at the proper diameter and number of blades.
 Recently added features

  • RhinoMarine and Orca3D data exchange - SwiftCraft files can now be created in RhinoMarine or Orca3D and imported into SwiftCraft for further analysis.
  • Cavitation analysis - An improved analysis for trans-cavitating propellers, such as for 3-bladed propellers under heavy load at high speed.
  • Resistance prediction - Added new resistance prediction methods.
  • Data import - Added import capability for a variety of third-party files.
